Mount Carmel Academy's Solar Eclipse Experience began with two very important things: the distribution of NASA-approved solar glasses and a presentation and discussion on eye safety. Student learned about what to do and what not to do during the solar eclipse. They also enjoyed an eclipse-themed lunch including rocket dogs and eclipse cookies. Students had the option to head outside to attend the Club Fair and view the eclipse through their glasses, or to stay indoors and view NASA's live eclipse programming. Outdoors, each of Mount Carmel's more than 50 clubs set up booths with eclipse games and treats. The honor societies had eclipse trivia questions, student council handed out Sun Chips and moon pies, the art honor society offered celestial face painting, the Carmelettes presented their best version of the "moonwalk," and much more. It was a wonderful experience for all!
