MCA Media Arts teacher Jaime Aguirre has been chosen as the recipient of the 2022 Louisiana Art Education Association (LAEA) Secondary Art Educator Award! Mr. Aguirre was selected for his dedication and service to both the field of art education and his students. He will be recognized at the LAEA Conference this fall.

“He is keenly aware of the creative potential of each student and develops material that allows each student voice to shine through,” fellow art teacher Bridget Gillane explained in her nomination letter. “He is always seeking out ways to showcase the creative achievements of his students and regularly has students place and/or win in local and regional competitions. Because he encourages his students to showcase their work, they gain confidence in their abilities and oftentimes decide to pursue design in college.”

Congratulations to Mr. Aguirre!
