The sophomore class experienced Sudden Impact, a partnership between the University Medical Center and the LA State Troopers Office. Students learned about the dangers and risks of destructive decisions while driving. They spent a full day at the University Medical Center, where they heard presentations from nurses and state troopers. A guest speaker, personally affected by a car accident, shared her story. The day concluded with a tour of the Trauma Center and a visit to an Intensive Care Unit patient. Sudden Impact strives to leave a lasting impression on students about the consequences of irresponsible decisions behind the wheel.
