Animal Science students recently visited the Sugar Roots Farm on a field trip. They learned about sustainable farming and animal husbandry (care).

This field trip connects with the 2022-2023 school year theme, “Keeping the Culture Alive,” as classes across the curriculum implement place-based education. Place-based learning engages students in their community, including their local environment, culture, history, and people. As students build relationships with people and organizations in their city, student engagement, retention, and academic achievement increase.
