Ms. Hannan’s AP Biology students explored ecology through cyanotypes, photographic prints made using sunlight. Each print featured an animal native to Louisiana. Students researched their chosen organisms and related ecology concepts before using transparent negatives and light-sensitive paper to create the cyanotypes. After exposing their designs to sunlight, they rinsed and dried the prints, then used them to create collages with their research and ecology terms. The finished pieces were displayed in Ms. Hannan’s classroom.
