New to the 2022-2023 school year, religion teachers Ms. Nixon and Ms. Saal will serve as co-campus ministers.

Welcome Letter from Ms. Nixon and Ms. Saal

Having a campus minister at Mount Carmel has been a dream of ours for many years. After three years of teaching 8th grade religion, we found ourselves wanting to be able to give more to our students to help them grow in their relationship with the Lord but feeling limited because of our responsibilities as teachers. There is a tangible sense of something that is set apart here at MCA, and we wanted to make sure that the spiritual culture and identity are preserved as we continue to grow and evolve as a school. Thus, the role of campus minister came to be - a role to help fill the spiritual needs of the students and community as a whole.

Sister Camille Anne and Ms. Simno appointed both of us, and we are ready to see what God has in store for this year at MCA! We are to provide some much-needed support to our fellow teachers by planning school Liturgies and class retreats. We will be working with the student-led Campus Ministry Club to provide more opportunities for our students to encounter Jesus outside of the classroom. We have set aside time to be available to the students for appointments to provide them with spiritual mentorship during IS. We hope to be able to answer their theological questions, give them resources to grow in their prayer life, get them connected with youth groups in their area, and so much more! We also plan to involve parents, alumnae, and other members of the Mount Carmel community to bring all of you into our mission of growing in closeness with God. We are so grateful for this opportunity to serve this school we love so much and are so grateful for your support. Please keep us all in your prayers.
