Students in U.S. Government & Politics AP held their own caucus – a candy caucus. With various candy “candidates” set up around the room, students aligned with their top choice and worked to convince others to join them. At the end of the first round, only the candy that met the viability threshold – 15% of the class supporting it – could continue. After a few rounds of swaying classmates and realigning with more viable candies, a top candy winner was declared. The most persuasive students for the winning candy and the runner-up received a full-size bar of their candy with their supporters enjoying fun-size versions.
