Over the years, Mount Carmel Academy's Key Club has collaborated with Catholic Charities, including with their Food for Seniors program, which offers a monthly food box to low-income elderly people. Recently, Catholic Charities proposed the idea of creating a card to add a personal and caring touch to these boxes. With great enthusiasm, Key Club accepted the request. Sophomore Whitney Warren created the artwork for the outside of the card, and senior Kathryn Kamalade, Key Club’s president, designed the interior.
Catholic Charities Director of Volunteers, Cindy Self, recently visited Mount Carmel Academy to express her gratitude for the Key Club's dedication and hard work on the card project. "It has been a pleasure to work with MCA over the past school year, and Whitney in particular, on this project," she said. "It’s been a great collaboration to put our faith into action within the community. I know the seniors that will receive the cards with their food boxes will appreciate them."
Key Club's dedication to supporting those in need in their community has made a significant impact, and the creation of the card is just one example of the club's ongoing efforts to spread kindness and compassion.
