The valedictorians for the Class of 2020 are Madelyn A. Arruebarrena, daughter of Dean and Mary Beth Arruebarrena; Ava F. Buras, daughter of Robert and Fahreena Buras; Sophie R. Hebert, daughter of Kevin and Melissa Hebert; Thalia Koutsougeras, daughter of Cris Koutsougeras and Slobodanka Muzdeka; and Hayley E. Sumich, daughter of Leni and Christi Sumich.

The salutatorians are Fiona Ching, daughter of Hong Ching and Chui Cheung, and Gabrielle L. Osborne, daughter of Gerard Osborne and Tammy Osborne.

VALEDICTORIANS

Madelyn Arruebarrena, a National Merit Finalist, will major in Neuroscience and Behavior at the University of Notre Dame, from which she received the Provost's Scholarship and the University Scholarship.

Ava Buras, a National Merit Finalist, will study International Relations and Business Legal Studies at Tulane University, from which she received the Representative Matthew Willard Full Tuition Legislative Scholarship and the National Merit Scholarship.

Sophie Hebert will major in Science at Louisiana State University, from which she received the Tiger Excellence Scholar Resident Award and Louisiana Tiger Legacy Excellence Scholarship.

Thalia Koutsougeras, a National Merit Finalist, will major in Engineering Physics at Tulane University, from which she received the Distinguished Scholars Award, the Paul Tulane Award, and the Tulane Research and Innovation Award for Photonics research projects for solar energy conversion, biosensing, and holography.

Hayley Sumich, a National Merit Finalist, will study Biological Sciences (pre-med) at Louisiana State University, from which she received the Flagship Scholar Resident Award, the Louisiana Tiger Legacy Excellence Award, and President's Student Aid.

SALUTATORIANS

Fiona Ching will major in Biological Sciences (pre-dental) at Louisiana State University, from which she received the Academic Scholar Resident Award, Innovation Award and President's Student Aid.

Gabrielle L. Osborne will attend Tulane University, from which she received the Senator Cameron Henry Legislative Full Tuition Scholarship.
