MCA’s competition cheerleaders attended NCA (National Cheerleaders Association) Christian Leadership Cheer Camp in Baton Rouge the week of July 25-29, 2022. The squad won the most prestigious award of the camp, the NCA Leadership Rock Award.  They also placed first in the Rally Routine Competition and the Game Day Competition and earned a bid to NCA High School Nationals in Dallas.

Individual awards included the “Star Stunts” award, three “Star Jumper” awards, and three “Star Tumbler” awards. With only one “Start Stunt” and only five “Star Jumper” and “Star Stunts” awards available, MCA cheerleaders earned seven of the 11 possible awards.

Throughout the week, they learned new material for the year, worked on stunts and pyramids, attended leadership sessions, participated in worship, had an "Olympic Legacies" themed day, and formed new relationships with teams from all over the state.

"We could not be more proud of these girls, especially with this being their first overnight, competitive camp," said Ms. Hudson, one of the squad's moderators.

Congratulations to our competition cheer squad and their moderators, Ms. Ruhlman and Ms. Hudson!
