Cubotics, MCA’s robotics team, participated in a Day of Design hosted by Tulane University’s Product and Experimental Design service learners on October 26, 2019. The team completed projects using design thinking, quick prototyping, and team building.

The day began with a few team building games followed by a design challenge. Teams were given a scenario, basic supplies, and a set amount of time to come up with a solution to a problem. They were also challenged to design a house of cards within set guidelines regarding height, structural elements, aesthetics, etc. Final designs were tested for stability (with blowing fans and by placing small toys in certain areas). Students also explored the Tulane Makerspace.

They had a wonderful day working with the biomedical engineering college students, some of whom are mentors for Cubotics this semester.
