Cubotics competed in their first First Tech Challenge (FTC) Qualifier at Hammond High Magnet School on December 7, 2024, winning five out of six qualifying matches and securing fourth place to advance to the finalist rounds. The team triumphed in two of the three finalist matches, finishing second overall out of 14 teams, a significant achievement in Cubotics history. They also earned second place for the Inspire Award, the most prestigious honor in FTC, and qualified for the FTC State Championship in February.

Beyond competition, Cubotics has been actively involved in outreach efforts, focusing on empowering young women in STEM and engaging the local community. As #FIRSTLikeAGirl Ambassadors, the team was selected as one of 40 FTC teams from 13 countries to represent the initiative and connect with young women in STEM worldwide. Locally, the team hosted two workshops for St. Pius Girl Scout troops, reaching approximately 45 girls with activities that encouraged confidence in STEM and introduced the world of robotics. To date, Cubotics has dedicated approximately 120 hours to outreach.

Congratulations to team members Emily Aleman, Lucy Mizell, Sophia Hattier, Jolie Oubre, Alyssa Romero, Ava Walker, Annelise Cotaya, Daphne Dyle, and Julianne Serrano
