In a unit on Data, students in Computer Science Fundamentals explored concepts like data compression, binary code, and the hexadecimal system. They then learned how companies use tools like hex codes in their marketing and branding. Students imagined their own STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) company and created a style guide with signature brand details, including a logo, color palette (utilizing hex codes), typography, and other brand elements. They also examined real-world branding through marketing materials from Sweet Tooth Dental, owned by MCA alumna and fellow Butterfly Dr. Gretchen Juncker Ferraro '96.
