On Thursday, each grade-level's homerooms competed with each other for the designation of grade-level Design Cycle winner.  The winning homerooms would then compete in the schoolwide competition the following day.  Students had one month to research, prototype, test, and improve their designs, and rockets in this round were judged exclusively on vertical height.
