Eighth grader Jillian Long placed first in the 11-13 division of the 2018 Wild Things Youth Art Competition sponsored by The National Wildlife Refuge System, which is within the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. This art competition spotlights the richness of Southeast Louisiana’s native wildlife and habitats through drawing and painting mediums while encouraging youth to learn more about their natural heritage. Jillian’s artwork was featured in an art gallery during the annual Wild Things event in Lacombe on October 13.
