In Environmental Science class, seniors got hands-on with geology using colorful modeling clay to explore the composition and structure of the Earth. Starting with a tiny blue “inner core,” students layered yellow (outer core), pink (mantle), and green (crust) outward to scale. Once complete, they sliced their models in half with dental floss to reveal a cross-section of Earth’s interior — a creative and visual way to understand the relative thickness and makeup of each layer.
