In Physics class, students used a short track, a motion sensor, and a cart to investigate the relationship between force, mass, and acceleration as described in Newton’s second law of motion. After setting up and testing their equipment, students added 50g, 100g, 150g, 200g, and 250g masses to the back of a cart to generate velocity-time graphs for each run. The graphs were then analyzed to see the effect that varying the force of an object has on acceleration.
