Geometry classes have been studying triangles. As part of a Design Cycle Experience (DCE), they researched and investigated why engineers and architects utilize triangles in the construction of bridges. Applying this information on a smaller scale, students designed and constructed their own bridges using craft sticks and tacky glue. The bridges were required to support five pounds of weight. Each group tested the structural integrity of their bridge during class presentations.
