Thirty-three junior and seniors, along with 7 adults, volunteered to help build homes for Habitat for Humanity. The group worked on two homes in New Orleans East. They built the exterior walls, raised the homes into position, and covered bricks with cement.

The trip was made possible thanks to funding by a grant from the Brown Foundation. Mount Carmel Academy has been volunteering with the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity since 1996. Since then, MCA has contributed more than 3,000 volunteers and more than 25,000 hours of work.
