Sophomore students recently experienced a cross-curricular presentation organized by Mount Carmel’s History and Religion Departments, focusing on World War II, the use of the atomic bomb, and the principles of Just War Theory.

The presentation was led by WWII expert Michael Arvites of Holy Cross School, who guided students through the historical context while also exploring the moral complexities behind major decisions and their outcomes. The discussion encouraged students to think deeply about how and why those decisions were made.

This cross-curricular experience connected what students are learning in both History and Religion in a meaningful way.
