Was it Brutus, with the catapult, in the parlor? Or maybe it was Romulus, with the lion, in the dining room? Modeled off the classic mystery board game Clue, students in Ms. Fletcher’s Latin I class worked together to solve a crime – from ancient Rome. Working together in pairs, students scanned QR codes for clues, translated Latin, solved puzzles, and answered questions that would hopefully lead them to the guilty person, weapon, and place. Stickers and candy treats were awarded to teams answering questions quickly and correctly and for the number of points earned along the way. The game introduced the class to their next unit while also helping prepare them for the National Latin Exam.
