In a world of constant information, civics students learned how to sort fact from fiction. Senior classes spent time in the library with Ms. Couret, who led a session on evaluating the credibility of online information, with help from Ms. Hebert. With so much news coming from platforms like TikTok, the conversation focused on how to tell what’s reliable and what’s not.

Students practiced tracking down original sources, spotting bias, and looking into who is behind the information. They worked in groups to analyze real social media posts using key credibility factors such as authenticity, evidence, and reasoning. Students left with a better sense of how to question and verify what they see online.
