Exploring Ancient Egypt
Mr. Ferry’s sophomore religion classes had the distinct honor of learning about Egyptian civilization from Mr. Jess Whittington, a published author and scholar of Ancient Egypt. As students studied the narratives of the Hebrew Scriptures — especially Moses and the Exodus — his expertise provided rich historical context, making the lessons more meaningful and authentic.

Mock Trial of Moses
To further deepen their understanding, students then participated in a mock trial of Moses’ life. Each POD took on roles such as lawyers, witnesses, and judges to argue which key event — his birth, the burning bush, the plagues, or the Exodus — was the most significant. Through this creative courtroom experience, Moses’ mission and faith came to life in an engaging and memorable way.
