Theme: “Arts in Bloom”

Mount Carmel Academy will celebrate National Arts in Education Week, September 9–13, with the theme “Arts in Bloom.” This special week showcases the talents of our students and teachers while reminding us of the joy that comes from creating together.

The Banner

Art IV students kicked off Arts in Ed Week by designing and creating the “Arts in Bloom” banner, now on display in the cafeteria. Their collaborative work sets the stage for a week of creativity across campus.

What's on the Agenda:

Students will receive a special “passport” to collect stamps at each daily activity. Anyone who earns at least four stamps will enjoy a dress-down day on September 17, wearing the pass as their ticket.

  • Stickers distributed to students in homeroom.
  • Banner designed by Art IV students, displayed in the cafeteria.

Featured Flowers of the Week

To enrich the theme “Arts in Bloom,” each day from Tuesday through Friday highlights a Louisiana flower whose meaning connects to creativity, growth, and self-expression:

Tuesday – Louisiana Iris: With its rich purples, blues, and golds, the iris symbolizes embracing where you are and letting individuality shine.

Wednesday – Magnolia: A reminder of quiet strength and self-assurance, showing that creativity can unfold powerfully in its own time.

Thursday – Black-eyed Susan: Bright and joyful, it encourages confidence and playful creativity even in the face of challenges.

Friday – Swamp Hibiscus: Bold and vibrant, it symbolizes fearless self-expression and unapologetic creativity.
