National Arts in Education Week, September 11 to 17, 2023, is a nationwide celebration that acknowledges the profound influence of the arts on education. In July of 2010, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution designating the second week of September as National Arts in Education Week.

This year, MCA's theme is "Home is Where the Art Is." National Art Honor Society students have crafted wearable pieces of art for the faculty and staff. The pins, which are shaped like houses, were meticulously hand-painted with imaginative designs. Students and faculty/staff also received themed stickers designed by Mr. Aguirre, and the morning announcements will spotlight local artists and architecture.

Throughout the week, there will be an array of art-themed activities:

Monday: Students are constructing a hallway paper chain that will share why art holds significance for them.

Tuesday: Strike a post in front of a student-designed backdrop!

Wednesday: Art takes on many forms, including cafeteria karaoke!

Thursday: Interactive sessions with AI-generated art will showcase the intersection of technology and creativity.

Friday: It's Tie Day Friday!  Students will wear tie-dye shirts, while faculty and staff will proudly wear their NAHS art-adorned ties.
