Christina Jontra, Chief Navigator at Neptune Navigate, spoke to Mount Carmel students on September 27, 2023, about the importance of being good digital citizens and reflecting Christ online. The need for digital citizenship has become more prevalent among teens, as they are living in a digital world where information and connection are at their fingertips. Providing students with the tools they need to become good digital citizens will ensure their ability to be smart and stay safe online. Mrs. Jontra discussed grade-appropriate topics like cyberbullying, digital footprint, social media & digital world basics, media literacy, privacy & cyber awareness, and tech laws that have all been thoroughly reviewed and approved by the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA).
