A Design Cycle Experience of Engineering with Linear and Angular Speed for Precalculus Honors
Students in Precalculus Honors worked together in groups to design and build a machine that incorporated rotation. The machines were required to change an angular speed from one amount to another to accomplish a purpose and have at least three rotating components. Students incorporated found objects into their projects and utilized the 3D printers in the Phyllis M. Taylor Maker Lab to create their own gears. After submitting two diagrams, each group was required to demonstrate their machine’s functionality.
