Mount Carmel Academy Spring Awards

Mount Carmel Academy recognized students for their athletic and academic achievements at the Spring Athletic Awards ceremony held on May 12.

Outstanding Spring Athlete Awards went to Brianna Crabtree, Madilyn Giglio, Emily Smith and Iris Westmoreland in recognition of their outstanding athletic ability, good sportsmanship and the inspiration they provide their teammates.

Chloee Beebe, Amelia Troutman, and Arianna White received the Ruth McDonald Award. The award is presented to seniors who have displayed all around athleticism through their participation in multiple sports.  

The Carmel Champion Award is presented to an individual who has placed first in a state championship meet. Junior Emily Smith placed first overall on vault at the 2021 LHSAA Gymnastics meet.

The Coaches' Award goes to team members who set the example, support their teammates and seldom lack spirit or motivation. Recipients are Briana Anderson, Caroline Arnold, Abigail Barbaro, Megan Faustermann, Katie Kliebert, Reagan Krupp, Catherine Nicosia, Brooke Nuss, Casey Pappas, Mia Pumila, Isabella Strassel and Lorna Sweeney.

Seniors Brooke Javier and Reagan Krupp received the Christian Cub Award. It is awarded to a senior who has excelled in academics while earning the respect of her opponents by displaying the personal integrity and values of a young Christian woman.

The Outstanding Member Pin goes to athletes who contribute to their team's success by their practice efforts, consistent sportsmanship and unwavering support for their teammates. Outstanding members are Olivia Bagnetto, Niki Bountovinas, Brianna Crabtree, Kaylee Dufrene, Linda Hollander, Gabrielle Howard, Rylee Landreaux, Olivia Maher, Caroline McCoy, Taylor Rumney, Georgia Wetzel and Anne Zimmerman.

The Most Valuable Player Award goes to athletes who constantly contribute to the success of the team and inspire teammates to perform at a higher level. Spring MVPs are Emma Curry, Madilyn Giglio, Taylor Hunn, Amber Pelegrin, Victoria Stephens, Iris Westmoreland and Arianna White.

The LHSAA All-Academic Scholar Award goes to seniors who maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher while participating in varsity sports. These students are Niki Bountovinas, Brianna Crabtree,  Bailey Danflous, Kate Doiron, Shanna Grandpre, Kristy Herkes, Katie Johnston, Reagan Krupp, Olivia Maher, Laila Naquin, Catherine Nicosia, Casey Pappas, Lauren Perniciaro, Taylor Rumney and Lorna Sweeney.
