Sophomore Class Experiences UMC’s Sudden Impact Program The sophomore class spent a full day at University Medical Center participating in the Sudden Impact program, an interactive experience designed to promote safe decision-making among young drivers. Throughout the day, students attended presentations led by nurses and Louisiana State Troopers, learning about the risks and consequences of destructive decisions—both behind the wheel and as passengers. Each session also featured a guest speaker who shared a personal story about how one person’s choices forever changed their life. In the afternoon, students toured University Medical Center’s Trauma Center and Intensive Care Unit, gaining a powerful, firsthand understanding of how split-second decisions can have lasting impacts.
