Mount Carmel students competed in the TEAMS engineering competition, which challenges teams to apply math, science, and problem-solving skills to real-world engineering scenarios.

The competition includes three parts: an engineering research essay submitted before the event, a multiple-choice test focused on math and science applications, and a hands-on Design/Build challenge.

This year’s design challenge required teams to build a cantilever bridge prototype capable of supporting weight for 30 seconds. During testing, judges measured the structure’s height, distance, and total load supported.
