Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science (TEAMS) holds an annual theme-based competition. Teams of four students apply STEM knowledge in creative ways to solve real-world engineering challenges. This year, with a theme of “Engineering Solutions in a Pandemic,” groups were challenged to design and build a prototype for a robotic delivery device (RDD). The task was to deliver “textiles” (cut up paper towel rectangles) using a RDD. The device had to lift the textile into the designated packaging (target box).

Using the Design Cycle process that MCA students use across all classes, they worked from problem to solution through a series of steps. The competition was virtual, so students filmed and submitted their results.
