World Geography students recently engaged in an inquiry-based learning exercise focused on their preferred candy. Prior to the project, the class had been studying sustainability and its significance in our daily lives. Students took their favorite candy and compiled research on the manufacturing company. Not only did the students have to research the ingredients and where the materials were sourced, but they also had to examine the company's policies regarding sustainability and the rights of workers. After completing their project, the students enjoyed a gallery walk where they were able to sample each other's favorite candy and learn more about what these major global companies are doing to protect the environment and their people.
