Senior World Religion classes recently visited a mosque and a synagogue. They are currently working on an Islam and Judaism unit as they learn about the Abrahamic faiths. The visit gave students the opportunity to experience first-hand what they have been studying in class. They were able to respectfully observe both worship spaces while learning from and asking questions to those living out the faith.

Thank you to the Congregation Gates of Prayer and Masjid Abu-Bakr Al-Siddiq for welcoming our students!

Place-based Learning

This field trip connects with the 2022-2023 school year theme, “Keeping the Culture Alive,” as classes across the curriculum implement place-based education. Place-based learning engages students in their community, including their local environment, culture, history, and people. As students build relationships with people and organizations in their city, student engagement, retention, and academic achievement increase.
