Annual Individual Awards

At the end of each school year, Mount Carmel Academy gives four special awards to those student-athletes who stand out among their teammates. These young women have shown athletic skill, good sportsmanship, and the ability to balance athletic and academic excellence. 

Christian Cub Award

The Christian Cub Award is awarded to a graduating senior who has excelled in academics and earned the respect of their opponents by displaying the personal integrity and values of young Christian women.

Ruth McDonald Award

Ruth McDonald served as the athletic director and coach of every sport from 1963 until her retirement in 1998. Ruth also taught a full schedule of physical education classes and led our sports teams to multiple championships in the New Orleans Catholic School League (CSAL). The CSAL ended in 1992 as Catholic girls' high schools joined the LHSAA. In her memory, the Ruth McDonald Award is presented to a graduating senior who has displayed all around athleticism through her participation in multiple sports. She possesses a positive attitude, coupled with an unwavering dedication to her team, coaches, and school.
