Eleven seniors recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Eleven Mount Carmel Academy students have been recognized from the class of 2012 for their academic excellence by the National Merit Scholarship Program.
       The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has recognized eight Mount Carmel Academy seniors as Semifinalists in the Merit Scholarship Competition. These students are: Caroline Gaspard, Amy Guillot, Rachel Helm, Lauren Kornick, Leslie LaCoste, Sydney Morris, Anne-Marie Murat, and Amber Wong.
       Sydney Morris was also named both a Semifinalist with the National Merit Corporation and with the National Achievement Program, which honors African-American students for outstanding PSAT scores.
       In addition, Mount Carmel Academy’s Quinci Lonzo was recognized as an Outstanding Participant by the National Achievement Program.
       The National Merit Scholarship Corporation also recognized two Mount Carmel Academy seniors as Commended Scholars. These students are: Madeline Engler and Katelyn Rickerfor.
       The College Board’s National Hispanic Recognition Program distinguishes students of Hispanic/Latino heritage for their high PSAT scores. Mount Carmel Academy’s Katelyn Rickerfor also earned this honor in addition to being named a Commended Scholar.
