A group of Mount Carmel students traveled to Natchitoches on January 26 to participate in the Louisiana Thespian Festival at Northwestern State University. Students from all over Louisiana participated in classes, workshops, and performances; auditioned for college scholarships; and networked with students and directors from across the state.

MCA students received the following accolades:

  • Maggie Jaunet scored the highest score (a perfect score!) in technical I.E. for lighting design.
  • Claire Bourgeois received a performance scholarship, and was the top score in Solo Musical Theater earning two performances in the final showcase at festival.
  • Ava Buras, Sarah Dean, and Jessie Duplantis were the top score in Group Acting and performed in the final showcase at festival.
  • Megan Loup and Hanna Miller earned a superior in Duet Acting, qualifying them to represent Louisiana at the International Thespian Festival this summer.
  • Daniela Vazquez earned a superior in Solo Musical Theater, qualifying her to represent Louisiana at the International Thespian Festival this summer.
  • Mount Carmel's one-act, "Admissions," performed by Ele Heno, Katie Kitchen, and Jessie Duplantis, received a superior rating.

Congratulations to all the participants!
